If you listen to music on your PC, you’ve got to give SongBird a try. It’s an extremely solid music player, and because it’s built on top of Firefox, it’s also got a wonderful web browser built in that allows you to flip through tons of music services and other fun stuff while still listening to your tunes.
It complies and runs on Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux. Very cool stuff.

I don’t really understand the whole browser dealie but people are talking about it, so I’m going to give this a try.
The one thing that makes a media player good IMO is making it easy to find your music– the iTunes search box makes it possible to find anything within a few keystrokes.

Yeah, it’s interesting because you’re not really sure why you’d want another browser at first, but playing around with it, I really enjoy it. The library works almost identically to iTunes, and if these sites are well interated using XUL, they’ll really be able to mimic things like the iTunes store.
It’s looking very interesting. If I wasn’t eyeballs deep in other stuff right now, I’d be working on a songbird podcast directory / extension that integrated with the features of songbird and let you subscribe in much the same way iTunes does.
