Hi Eric,
Great blog. Very true about the packaging aspect. I've been trying to research as to who the Godiva chocolate photographer is. Would you have any help on the subject. Thanks

Indeed - Making a kickass product is paramount. The piece I've been coming to terms with recently is that until you get people "in the door" they won't know that your product kicks ass.

The whole thing gets shot to hell if you bite into the chocolate and it's lackluster.

A great product + packaging + service + marketing + 100 intangibles = a successful product.

Marketing folks like me tend to get hung up on the importance of all the things that surround a product, because it's our job and because these things are incredibly important.

However, it's helpful to remember that, if the product sucks, all the marketing in the world won't sell it. Not usually, at least.

Godiva chocolate tastes great, and it is their marketing that makes Godiva stand out among all the other brands that taste great too.
